This theme looks way nicer
When I first made this blog on WordPress I was aiming for something that looked REALLY clean and simple. The layout I had before this looked exactly like that (and generally what it had looked like before I had a wordpress account). However, after staring at that for a while, it came to my attention that it looked REALLY FUCKING BORING.
So now it looks like this. I don’t even have to worry about designing some terrible banner for the site. Well, I usually like the way my banners come out, I can just never get them to match a webpage. Example of something I made fairly recently because I have nothing better to do with my time:
Too bad I don’t visit any real forums to use that on.

An interesting theory
I think the reason I rarely write about anything, is because I can never think of a title. Or, more to the point, I can never get a single solid subject I want to write something about. It always ends up being “general anime summary”, or 2-liners with a picture. It’s frustrating, because I log in aiming to post *something*, yet I never get to it. And I want to avoid “this is what happened to me today!” posts as much as possible, because I probably hate coming back to my own blog to see that spur-of-the-moment crap there.
However, I think I will have something to write about in the near future, because I’ve finally gotten classes in school that teach me something productive relating to my major. So when I want to sit down and just mess around with C#, and see what I can get to work and what doesn’t work, it’s something productive. I guess once I start doing some game design stuff worth half a damn, I’ll start writing about that here. I’ve got a game idea in my head, and started some basic work on it today, which actually taught me quite a bit about Classes and object-oriented programming (though I’ve still got a LOT to learn). I used a few tutorials to get a sprite moving around the screen, and gave it the ability to jump, but it can’t interact with anything even relatively close to an enviornment, so if I want to actually make this into a playable game, it’s got a long while to go. I’ve also gotta get the idea that these things take time, and won’t be something I can do inside of one day. That’s gonna be a tough one, because I’m a persistent SoB once I start something I enjoy.
That’s about it for now. Gonna go inhale a cup of coffee and then go to sleep. It kept me awake in bed for about an extra hour and a half last night, and it’ll do the same tonight, but it’s totally worth it.

Okay, so I haven’t posted anything in over a month, generally because I don’t really care. But I need to let out a good rant here about how utterly BAD this system my university has set up for my entry-level computer course. In turn, this will probably lead to other, more worthwhile posts, but whatever.
Okay, so the class is COMP100, generally ‘How-to-use-Microsoft-Word’, and a bit more. For all of our tests/exams/practice exams, we use this online setup thing called MyITLab. It’s a system that keeps all of your assignments posted online(fine), organizes them by due date(also good), and runs them in a simulation/parallel operating system-type fashion(HORRIBLE). Now WHY is this horrible? Because computers cannot comprehend COMMON SENSE.
Most of the assignments are generally “Open this MSWord document, and do the stuff the instruction panel tells you.” The first time I began to realize how horrible the system was, I was told to highlight a block of text, and make it bold faced. So naturally, I highlight it with the mouse, and press Ctrl + B.

Wait, what? I’m pretty sure I hit the ‘B’ key. Oh well, let’s try it again!

What the hell? Wait……do the seriously want to tell me I NEED to go find the bold button in the menu and use that? Well, lets try that…
“CORRECT”
*sigh*
And that was an easy one. Today I’m told to make the header of a paragraph’s font color purple. Okay, highlight, click the color selection panel, and hit the shade of purple it told me. Nope, that was wrong too. This one, unlike the bold-font one, I never figured out. But after the 10 tries it allows you were up, it does it for you, and SURE ENOUGH, all it wanted was purple font. Also, apparently using the “X” button at the top of the window you’re looking at right now is the incorrect way to close your browser. So when you’re done, make sure to use file -> exit. I’m sure that’s the way everyone does it. That X button is so horribly inconvenient.
In the end, apparently I don’t know how to use microsoft word, or even MAKE MY FONT BOLD for that matter. See, I tried to make the ‘MAKE MY FONT BOLD’ bold by pressing Ctrl + B and it didn’t………………oh wait.

Shading sucks; my first drawing/abomination evah
Well, uh…………yeah, I said a while ago that if I drew anything that somewhat resembled something decent, i’d upload it, and here is said abomination. The drawing itself wasn’t anything magnificent from the start; her face is too wide, the eye’s are too slanted, nose is pretty awful-looking, etc. But that’s besides the point. I wanted to see how well I could trace, color and shade something I drew with photoshop. What I discovered is that shading is just as much of a pain in the ass as it’s made out to be.
Personally, I like the shading on the hair, albeit the hair color and highlights may be a bit too bright/sharp. I originally intended the picture to be a full-body drawing, but I got to the hands, realized that they SUCK ASS to draw, stopped, and just did this. Given a bit more practice I could probably do some decent-looking work, but for a first shot at basically everything, I’m satisfied enough with this.
Oh, and while I had photoshop open I made a quick wallpaper with a pre-cutout image, just to use it. It’s nice, but I totally cheated on everything and used tons of premade brushes for basically the whole picture :P

Things that happen when I actually have money
Yea, I’m pretty much addicted to buying manga now. It’s not even to read them much either; I still do most of that online with scans and whatnot. Main reason being to preserve the condition of the manga I’ve bought. Not like I’ll sell it anyway, but I guess it’s just natural to want collectable items in the best possible condition. I swear, it’s like pokemon cards all over again, and I’m mindlessly drawn into it without any hope of breaking the habit. But hey, at least manga can be displayed nicely as a collection. Cards you just keep in a deck locked away somewhere to preserve. Next will be anime figurines; oh god, my wallet is crying already.
I should, however, not buy much for a while, since I want to save money for a new computer, just in case I can’t student loan one. This desktop is starting to see the end of it’s days, and it’s about time for an upgrade anyway. 1GB of RAM isn’t so hot anymore. Not sure what i’ll get yet, but it’ll be a laptop, and it’ll be better than this thing I have now.

Ninja Gaiden 2 released; today is going to take forever
Seriously, today is going to drag on F O R E V E R. It’s only 3rd period and it feel like it’s taken 6 hours just to get here. Ugh. And once school’s over I’m gonna have to run like a bat out of hell to catch the bus to the mall, or i’ll be waiting for quite a while and it’ll suck.
If you’ve never played the Ninja Gaiden for the original Xbox, go get it. You’ll find it at pretty much any gamestop on the $10 rack with all the other Xbox games, and I can’t think of a better game to spend $10 on. And even if you haven’t, go get NG2 today. DO IT.
I’d say I’ll write a review or comment on the game later tonight after I play it, but the thought of me doing something besides playing it untill I pass out tonight is pretty funny.
EDIT: NEVERMIND I WAS LIED TO IT DOSEN’T COME OUT UNTILL TOMORROW ARGH.

Jesus Christ…
School needs to fucking end. Noone cares about anything anymore, it’s just 7 1/2 hours of sitting here doing nothing each day, it’s mind-numbing. I’d prefer to do something for once, even if it was just to give me a reason to slack off. You can’t slack off when you’re not doing anything in the first place. Oh, and people in this class playing random flash games need to STOP FUCKING SCREAMING. You won Tetris/centipede/asteroids/whatever. We get it. Now shut up.
Didn’t watch Air the other day like I planned, instead decided to finish up Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni, since thats yet *another* show I started watching forever ago and didn’t finish. I thought i was farther into it then I actually was though (though I was around 17 or something, was only at 12). Up to 20 now though, i’ll finish it up later tonight. Maybe i’ll do Black Lagoon in the next few days as well. Air can wait, after F/SN and playing tsukihime, another VN-adaptation animu can wait.
Oh, thats right, get to try out that new Touhou fighting game, Scarlet Weather Rhapsody, when I get home today. Saw it finished downloading last night before I went to bed, but was too tired to care for trying it out. Hopefully it dosen’t suck.
This post looks boring, theres no pictures of anything in it. That’s what happens when you proxy-post from school though, I guess. Oh well, possible Higurashi-thoughts-post later, so that’ll probably looks prettier. Why does ‘Prettier’ look like it’s spelled wrong for some reason?

It just hit me…
I’m moving out in 2 months. Holy crap. I’ve known the date I’m moving out for a while now, but it’s just now hitting me how damn close it is. 2 months, heh, it’s kinda scary in a way. I’m generally looking foward to it though, for personal reasons.
